This breed was added to the kennel in 1980. Our first dog was Show Champion Calypso of Malanis. Through her daughter, Norwegian Champion Colleen of Malanis, Calypso is behind many of today's top winners including Malanis Brown Starlet at Foulby who came 4th in the Gundog Group at Crufts 2002 & Sh Ch Malanis Brown Stomper, sire of 4 Champions & winner of the award for Top Sire 2004, 2005 & 2006.
Other current winners are Malanis Betts 2 RCC's, Lisa Walkers Malanis Dudley 1CC & 4 RCC’s, Hazel Walkers Malanis Cian at Ameysford JW.
Our Irish Water Spaniels are Hip & Elbow X-rayed under the KC/BVA scheme.
Elizabeth Cooper is on the A1 judging list of the Irish Water Spaniel Association.
Hannah Cooper is on the C judging list of the Irish Water Spaniel Association.

CAVALIER KING CHARLES SPANIELS
The owner, Elizabeth Cooper, has been
actively involved with the breed since 1965. This includes an active interest in
the showing, judging and breeding of Cavaliers. The Kennel has developed from
this time, the dogs being kept as family pets first, show dogs second. Notable
dogs from the Malanis line have been the tricolours Malanis Florence, (winner of
1 Challenge Certificate and 1 Reserve Challenge Certificate) and her son Malanis
Jake (winner of 2 Challenge Certificates and 4 Reserve Challenge Certificates).
All the Cavaliers in the kennel today are descended from these two dogs and all
hold current Heart Certificates
The ruby dog Fanacamee Alfie of Malanis has won well taking Toy Group One and many Best of Breed awards at Open Shows.
Elizabeth Cooper first judged Cavaliers in 1973 and she is on the A3 judging lists of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club. She has been a committee member of her local dog club for 30 years, serving as Chairman for 11 years.

We acquired our first Curly Coat, in
1995. From her we bred Malanis Hooch who is based in Belgium & has a number of
European Champion titles and has also gained success in the working field. Our
current Curly is the black bitch Sh Ch Malanis Ripple who is always handled by
Hannah. She gained her title at the three Representative Shows in 2008,
Birmingham National, Scottish Kennel Club & Welsh Kennel Club.
Our Curly Coated Retrievers are Hip X-rayed under the KC/BVA scheme
